ERM Initiative Industry Fellow

The ERM Initiative benefits greatly from the insights of business professionals within industry who are leading ERM activities within organizations they serve. In 2006, the ERM Initiative announced the appointment of its first Industry Fellow, Debra Elkins, technical lead for Enterprise Risk Modeling research at General Motors R&D Center in Warren, Michigan.

Debra Elkins is serving as the ERM Initiative’s first Industry Fellow. As the first ERM Industry Fellow, Elkins is providing leadership in the ERM Initiative’s efforts to address the growing need for students, faculty, and business professionals to focus on better techniques for managing the complexities of risks threatening today’s enterprise.

As an Industry Fellow, she is helping to ensure that the ERM Initiative is positioned to provide the next generation of employees with cross-disciplinary skills that GM and other companies require to effectively manage risks across the enterprise in a technology rich, global economy. As our ERM Initiative Industry Fellow, Elkins visits campus monthly to meet with faculty, students, and business professionals to advise on ERM related issues.
