National Scholarships
Robert Half International/Accountemps and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Scholarships
This program provides financial assistance to two AICPA Student Affiliate Members pursuing studies in accounting, finance or information systems. These awards (two $2,500 scholarships) are intended to encourage undergraduate and graduate students to consider careers in accounting and business. The scholarships are available only to full-time undergraduate or graduate students at regionally accredited institutions in the United States. All applicants must be U.S. citizens. Those persons who are already CPAs are not eligible for this scholarship. All application materials must be received by the AICPA by April 1 of each year. John L. Carey Scholarships
The Carey Scholarship program provides financial assistance to liberal arts degree holders pursuing graduate studies in accounting. The program provides these scholarships to encourage liberal arts undergraduates to consider professional accounting careers. Up to 7 competitive grants of $5,000 per year are awarded to students who show significant potential to become successful practitioners. The grants are renewable for an additional year of study, provided satisfactory scholastic progress is maintained. Recipients of Carey Scholarships are not precluded from accepting other scholarships or awards. All application materials must be received by the AICPA by April 1. AICPA Minority Scholarships
This scholarship program provides awards of up to $5,000 to outstanding minority undergraduate and graduate students to encourage their selection of accounting as a major and their ultimate entry into the profession. These awards are funded by the AICPA Foundation from monies contributed by the AICPA, its members, public accounting firms, and others. The program has been in existence for more than 20 years and has awarded more than $6 million in scholarships. National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) Scholarships
NABA was established in 1969 by a group of nine African-American accountants who were concerned about the limited number of minorities in the field of accounting, and particularly, the limited number of certified public accountants. At the time of inception, there were about 100 African-American CPAs; today, there are more than 5,000 members.
NABA makes available student scholarships at both the national and local levels. Scholarships are awarded to deserving and successful college students to assist in furthering their education. The American Woman’s Society of CPAs Scholarships
The American Woman’s Society of CPAs offers a national scholarship to individuals aspiring to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). The recipient of the scholarship will receive funding for a CPA review course conducted by a recognized CPA review provider. Hispanic Scholarship Fund
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) is the nation's leading Hispanic educational organization. HSF provides more college scholarships to the Latino community than any other organization, in support of its mission to double the rate of Hispanics earning college degrees. In its 26-year history, HSF has awarded more than 45,000 scholarships totaling nearly $60 million to Latinos from all 50 states and Puerto Rico, who have attended more than 1,300 colleges and universities. Scholarship wards range from $1,000 to $3,000. Successful scholarship candidates are chosen on the basis of academic achievement, personal strengths, leadership and financial need.
