Topic: Past Lecture - Robert J. Greczyn, Jr.
Bob Greczyn joined BCBSNC in 1998, with 20 years of leadership experience in health care. He was named president in 1999 and CEO in April 2000. He serves on both the Board of Trustees for BCBSNC and on the board of the national Blue Cross Blue Shield Association. He has a bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University and a Master of Public Health fro the University of North Caroilna at Chapel Hill.

Topic: Alexander Cutler, Eaton
Alexander Cutler assumed his current position in August 2000, after serving as Eaton’s president and COO since 1995. He began his career with Cutler-Hammer in 1975 as a financial analyst and became business group controller in 1977. After Eaton acquired Cutler-Hammer, he was made a division controller in 1979 and advanced through several leadership positions to his current role.

Susan Ivey became chairman of Reynolds American in January 2006, and president, CEO and director in January 2004, with more than 20 years’ industry experience. Previously, she was chairman of R.J. Reynolds and president and CEO of Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation. She has an MBA from Bellarmine University and a bachelor’s from the University of Florida.

Dr. Dennis Gillings began providing statistical consulting and data management services to pharmaceutical clients in 1974 during his 15-year tenure as professor of biostatistics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Quintiles arose from his consulting activities and was incorporated in 1982.

Scott Custer guides RBC Bank's overall strategy and operations, managing for growth and strong returns. Additionally, he leads the RBC Bank Board of Directors in setting business strategies. In his previous role as president of RBC Centura Bank, Custer was responsible for retail and commercial banking delivered through RBC Centura's regional market structure. Custer has 25 years of experience in the financial services sector.

Jim Whitehurst was named president and chief executive officer of Red Hat in December 2007. He joined Red Hat from Delta Airlines where he served most recently as chief operating officer, responsible for operations, sales and customer service, network and revenue management, marketing and corporate strategy. He holds a general course degree from the London School of Economics and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Bill Amelio joined Lenovo from Dell Inc. where since 2001 he served as senior vice president (Asia-Pacific and Japan). From 2000 - 2001, Amelio was executive vice president and chief operating officer of NCR Corporation's Retail and Financial Group. He has held leadership roles with Honeywell International Inc., AlliedSignal Inc., and a wide range of senior management positions with IBM.

Burns is responsible for global research, engineering, marketing and manufacturing of Xerox technology, supplies and related services. She also oversees the company's IT organization, corporate strategy, human resources, marketing operations, and global accounts. Burns worked her way upward after starting at Xerox as an intern more than 27 years ago.

Frank Harrison began his career with Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated in 1977 at the Raleigh bottling facility. He has since served as general sales manager in Raleigh, general manager in Charlotte, corporate vice president, vice chairman, and vice chairman/CEO. He became chairman/CEO in December 1996.
