2009 MBA Student Conferences

posted by Stephanie | Thursday, June 04

Students, it is time to get connected! Here’s an opportunity you don’t want to miss! Come and meet some of the top rated organizations in person who are looking to recruit YOU-MBA students. Every year several large MBA only career fairs are hosted by national organizations across the country. This is one of the best ways for you to make contacts for potential internship/full-time job opportunities. Most of these companies will not be coming to campus, so if you want some face time with your ideal company this is your chance.

Currently there is no monetary support from NCSU to attend any conference. It is your responsibility to register and pay for any of the conferences you plan to attend.

These career fairs include:

Asian MBA Conference (Sept. 10-12, 2009 – New York City)
http://asianmba.org – No Registration deadline – Early Bird Registration $50, after July 15th – $80

National Black MBA Association (Sept. 23-26, 2009 – New Orleans, LA)
http://www.nbmbaa.org/ – Deadline August 14th – Registration Fee $50

National Society of Hispanic MBA (Oct 8-10, 2009 – Minneapolis, MN)
http://www.nshmba.org/ Early Bird Registration before September 8th – Attend both days of the career fair $105, attend only one day $77.55

Reaching Out – GLBT (Oct 15-18, 2009 – Atlanta, GA)
http://www.reachingoutmba.org/ – Information coming

National Association of Women MBA (Oct 29-31, 2009 – Anaheim, CA)
http://www.mbawomen.org/ – Registration Fee $50

Net Impact Conference (Nov. 13-14, 2009 – Ithaca, NY)
http://www.netimpact.org/

There will be 50-150 companies attending each fair across a wide range of industries and sizes. These events are “MUST attends” for anyone looking for a full time job after graduation since the majority of large US companies plan on attending to find top talent candidates. Please note the conferences are open to ALL students. You do not have to be a specific minority to attend any of these conferences. All students are welcome!
