Plan on Dropping a Course?

Please be aware that the University’s tuition refund dates for a given semester are for all courses taken during that semester. Those courses include 2-credit hour and 1-credit hour courses that may begin well beyond the drop/add and tuition refund deadlines. For example, if you register in December for a 1-credit hour course that meets in April, then decide to drop the course in February when the deadline to drop with a tuition refund was at the end of January, you will lose your tuition for that course. Please refer to the University’s calendars for such dates.

If you’ve been in Career & Managerial Effectiveness class lately, you had an assignment that required you to use this tool. If not, you may not know what power you have at your fingertips. Or, you may simply appreciate a refresher course. EJ Alston and Dolan Ballabh will hold a series of workshops on how to use Career Beam on:

*April 15 from 4:30-5:00pm, N1130 *

Items covered include:

  • How to get intelligence on your target companies
  • How to find alumni working at your target companies
  • How to find the latest press releases about your companies
  • How to prepare to discuss industry trends
  • How to find lists of “conversation starters”
  • How to locate companies within certain industries
  • How to locate industries and companies within a certain geographic area
  • How to learn about geographic area salaries
  • How to find the real estate costs in a particular geographic area
