Quintiles Transnational Corp. recently visited campus for an information session. They provide clinical research services to biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. Many of you may feel this is not your area of expertise. From being at the session, I highly encourage people to look into opportunities even if you are not BioPharma focused. In fact, the two managers who spoke about their positions had no clinical experience before joining the company. They represented the contracts group who develop and negotiate contracts with clients and the strategic process optimization group who act as a think tank to streamline procedures within the company. They had great things to say about working in these areas and said they are excellent opportunities for newly minted MBAs.
The good news is that Quintiles is expanding rapidly in the next two years with up to 2000 new full-time positions. For summer employment, managers are being asked to submit internship proposals and positions will be posted to the Jobslink website as they are finalized. The HR recruiter encouraged students to send her a resume and describe the kind of position you are looking for if an internship is not posted in that area. She will try to work with specific managers to create an internship if possible. That is a great opportunity and everyone seemed very willing to help interested students find a good fit. I am happy to answer any questions and Stephanie has contact information for all three presenters.
