Service Raleigh is an annual citywide day of service started in 1998 by NC State’s Student Government and Park Scholars. Each year, volunteers from the university and surrounding community unite to undertake a variety of projects, each of which provides much needed assistance to local organizations. Service Raleigh is funded by the Park Foundation, NCSU Student Government, and local donors.
Volunteers meet on campus to check in and enjoy a light breakfast the morning of March 29th. After a brief celebration noting the start of the event, they head out to get started on service projects throughout the community. Projects in the past have included planting trees, landscaping, site restoration, and more. The only equipment required is
weather-appropriate clothing and a good attitude. Snacks are provided, too!
