Financial planning including financial reporting conventions and projection of critical financial amounts for new ventures. Introduction to fundamental accounting and finance concepts applied in the context of entrepreneurial ventures.
Financial Analysis
Investment and financing decisions by businesses with emphasis on technology-driven organizations in rapidly changing environments. Cash as the basis of asset valuation. Time value of money. Capital budgeting decisions under certainty and uncertainty. Capital market theory. Cost of capital. Capital structure theory and dividend policy.
Marketing Management
Market segmentation, targeting, and positioning. Channels of distribution, promotion strategy, product development strategy, and pricing strategy. Relationship marketing and marketing strategy. Applications in high-tech environments. Market simulation game.
Management Strategy
Theory and practice of business, global, and corporate strategy for high technology firms and firms in industries affected by advancements in information technology. Alignment of technologically intensive organizations’ strategies and structures with their macro and industry environments.
Innovation Management Project
The Innovation Management Project permits students to develop the competences required to support the innovation process in firms and organizations. Students work on real-world innovation projects with sponsor firms. Workshops and conferences are held to give students the complementary tools necessary to work on the project.
