ERM faculty partner with AICPA to offer workshop on audit committee's role in risk oversight
Workshop to be held in New York City
March 10, 2008 - Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Initiative faculty at North Carolina State University’s College of Management and the AICPA are presenting a one and a half day workshop: The Audit Committee’s Role in Risk Oversight: Taking a Strategic View of the Enterprise on March 27 and March 28, 2008.
The workshop, to be held New York, N.Y., is designed to help audit committee members understand emerging expectations for greater risk oversight. It also will help participants develop effective audit committee practices for evaluating and monitoring techniques used to manage entity risks so that stakeholder value is protected and enhanced.
This high-level forum – limited to 60 participants – offers participants an interactive setting for dialogue with leading experts on emerging trends related to the intersection of ERM and audit committee governance and strategic planning. It also will provide an opportunity for the exchange of ideas among other individuals currently serving in audit committee roles. It is recommended that participants receive 12.5 hours of continuing professional education (CPE) credit.
Individuals serving in risk management roles, including audit committee members, chief risk officers, CFOs, CEOs, COOs, general counsels, internal and external auditors, treasurers, members of boards of directors, and other risk management would benefit from this workshop.
