Accounting Society

Begin your professional career now! Membership in Accounting Society is open to anyone who has declared a major in accounting. Activities include guest speakers, social functions, service activities, and an opportunity to network with local accounting professionals. Come join the fun!

Alpha Kappa Psi

Alpha Kappa Psi is a professional, co-ed fraternity open to all majors in the College of Management. The fraternity seeks to prepare its members for careers in business after graduation.

American Marketing Association, College of Management Chapter

The American Marketing Aassociation helps students learn about the marketing profession. Club activities include presentations by professional speakers and community outreach.

Beta Alpha Psi

Beta Alpha Psi is an honorary organization for accounting, finance and information systems students and professionals. Its primary objective is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence. This includes promoting the study and practice of accounting, finance and information systems, providing opportunities for self-development that include service and association among members and practicing professionals, and encouraging a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility.

Beta Gamma Sigma

Beta Gamma Sigma is an international honor society that provides the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive at the undergraduate or graduate level.

Students are nominated by College of Management faculty and invited to membership into the Society each February. To be eligible for nomination, undergraduate students must be:

  • a degree-seeking undergraduate student in one of the following programs in the College of Management: B.S. in Accounting, B.S. in Business Administration, or B.S. in Economics-Concentration in Business Economics,
  • junior standing (second semester) and be in the upper 10% of their class or senior standing and be in the upper 10% of their class.

Graduate students in the Master of Accounting, Master of Business Administration, and Master Global Innovation Management programs in the top 20% of their class are also eligible for nomination.

Business Ethics Society

The Business Ethics Society is dedicated to a "best-practice" approach to the creation and management of moral capital in organizations. The Society sponsors activities that include: workshops and meetings to share ideas, networking with executives from the business community, case competitions, training and certification toward a Black Belt in Business Ethics, and maintaining a directory of resources useful for business ethics research and application.

College of Management Student Ambassadors

The College of Management Student Ambassadors assist the College of Management in facilitating various promotional activities with the College, such as: Make-a-Date-with-State, new and transfer student orientations, Fall and Spring commencement, and alumni activities. Students are selected as Ambassadors based on their internpersonal skills, enthusiasm for the College and for N.C. State, and leadership potential.

Economics Society

The Economics Society explores economic issues and related careers, such as: banking, government, the stock market, portfolio management, international trade, foreign and domestic investment, currency fluctuation and balance of payments, and environmental issues. Students from all majors can take part in this society.

Institute of Management Accountants

IMA membership provides opportunities for students to associate with practicing management accountants, financial managers and information managers to see how they live, work and apply their knowledge.  Members range from professionals beginning their careers to presidents and CFOs of major corporations.  Activities include: guest speakers, projects, conferences, networking and CFM/CMA certifications.

MBA Student Association

The NC State MBA Student Association (MBASA) was formed for the purpose of building a network among MBA students. The MBASA provides a chance for students to interact with fellow students, faculty, business leaders, and the surrounding community. The organization offers a series of activities to address professional and business issues that are not generally included in the formal program but are critical to the overall MBA experience.

National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. (NABA)

NABA's major thrust and its programs are designed to help strengthen the skills base for its student members, identify opportunities for minority students and professionals in the accounting profession, and encourage a greater number of African-American students to select accounting as their chosen field of study.

The National Association of Women MBAs is dedicated to promoting women in business and increasing the opportunities for women MBAs.

Net Impact is dedicated to promoting the various principles of corporate sustainability. Our members believe that business can both earn a profit and create positive social change. The majority of our activities are geared toward educating our members and our fellow students about these issues.

Peer Leaders

The College of Management Peer Leaders is an organization for rising sophomores and above that seeks to foster a sense of community within the college by welcoming and engaging our new freshman class. Peer Leaders receive training on advising and communication skills that enable them to make a mutually beneficial connection with their freshmen. The club assists the College of Management with freshmen activities throughout the year.

Personal Finance Club

The Personal Finance Club welcomes all NC State students.  The Club’s purpose is to promote and stimulate interest in areas of personal finance, to provide professional, academic, and social networking opportunities, and to provide service to NC State University and the surrounding community.  Activities include guest speakers, social functions, service activities and an opportunity to network with local professionals.

Society for Human Resource Management

Society for Human Reserouce Management members participate in a variety of activities that prepare them for entry into the professional world. NCSU-SHRM is consistently recognized as one of the Top 10 University chapters in the nation. Activities include: guest speakers, mentors from parent chapter, networking with professionals in the field, and attending conferences and competitions.

Society for Politics, Economics and Law (SPEL)

This student organization was formed as part of a new multidisciplinary program led jointly by faculty in the College of Management and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHASS). It provides intellectual opportunities for students interested in the interdisciplinary study and discussion of economic, polical and legal issues.

Supply Chain Club

The Supply Chain Club is an organization geared towards students who would like to develop additional skills and experiences in the area of Supply Chain Management.  The SC Club will offer students the opportunity to listen to and engage with speakers from industry currently working in supply chain roles, participate in visits to company locations such as manufacturing plants, warehouses and service operations and network with Supply Chain executives to further career opportunities.
